Papers of Clark Smith, an anti-Vietnam War activist and activist on behalf of American soldiers and Vietnam veterans. The papers largely document his work on behalf of soldiers and veterans, including the publication of the anti-war GI newspaper, The Ally. Also included are letters from American soldiers stationed in Vietnam, Germany, and at U.S. posts during the Vietnamese Conflict. These letters describe GI anti-war activism, the GI movement for military justice, and the everyday life of the average soldier. Also included are transcripts of interviews with Vietnam soldiers.
